  • On March 8th, 2018; on the occasion of International Women’s Day organized by the Women Welfare and Child Development Department Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, launched the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Social Security Fund Single Women Loan Scheme.
  • Under this scheme, loans of one lakh rupees will be given at one percent interest to the socially vulnerable and destitute single women in the state.
  • The aim of this scheme is to strengthen the status of women by creating employment in the villages and providing social security to them.
  • Animal Husbandry and Fisheries have also been included in this.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister gave the e-Rickshaw key and safety kit to seven women under the Sakhi e-Rikshaw Yojana for single women.
  • He started operations by sitting in into the e-Rickshaw.
  • Under this scheme Rs. 50 thousand per e-Rickshaw grant will be provided.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ calendar and various publicity material and also distributed safety napkin kits to women.
