  • Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Committee of Economic Affairs approved the minimum support price of Rs 6,500 per quintal for the year 2017 for the proper average quality of ‘Milling Copra’.
  • In the year 2016, it was Rs. 5950 per quintal.
  • The minimum support price for the year 2017 season has been fixed at Rs. 6,785 per quintal for the proper and average ‘Ball Copra’.
  • In 2016, it was Rs 6,240 per quintal.
  • This clearance has been given on the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP).
  • With minimum support price of Copra it is expected that farmers are to ensure the minimum price, increase in investment in coconut farms and increase in production and productivity in the country.
