- On 30th January, 2018; in the meeting of Uttar Pradesh cabinet, it was decided to set up e-Pos machine in all the Ration shops in the state and distribute foodgrain to the beneficiaries through it.
- Under this decision, Indian government’s end-to-end computerization scheme Food will be distributed to beneficiaries through establishment of e-pos machine in all the appropriate rate shops in the FPS automation work.
- The facility of online Aadhaar authentication of the beneficiary is present in E-Pos by which online monitoring of distribution system can also be done.
- Approximately 6,768 villages in rural areas e-pos machines through System Integrator will be installed and their operating and maintenance will be done through related system integrators.
- U.P DESCO will be a nodal institution for appointment and operation of system integrator.
- Nodal institution will be paid 2 % charge on the amount provided to the system integrator.
- In order to install e-pos machine and R.F.P for this and the U.P. Desco has to be made as Nodal Agency and for final approval on RFP; approval of the Council of Ministers is expected on authorization of Chief Minister.
