  • In the meeting on 30th January, 2018, the Cabinet of Uttar Pradesh decided to implement the Chief Mantri Aawas Yojana-Rural in the state.
  • Families residing in rural areas and those who are without shelter having affected by Black fever and families of Vanattangia and Musahar area affected with Japanese Encephalitis (JE) / SES certified by the District Magistrate will be eligible to take advantage of this scheme.
  • Apart from this, the families covered by the eligibility of the Prime Minister’s housing scheme- Rural, but not included in the present list based on the eligibility for the facilities upon social, economic and ethnic census 2011 figures, are also included in the eligibility category of this scheme.
  • Those who are without roof or shelter less and has not been received amount of Rs. 95,100 from the Department of Revenue will also get the benefit. Those who have received this amount will not be eligible in this scheme.
  • This scheme will be completely funded by the state government.
  • Allocation of accommodation will be on the basis of priority, in the name of female member of the family or jointly in the name of Husband and Wife.
  • In the absence of female members, housing allocation can also be done in the name of male member.
  • The area of accommodation is 25 square meters, including kitchens.
  • The cost of accommodation will be Rs 1.12 lakh in general areas (per dwelling) and Rs 1.30 lakh in Naxal-affected districts (Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra).
  • According to the current estimate, about 25 thousand families are marked for this benefit.
  • Under the scheme beneficiaries will be selected in the order of priority based on the availability of financial resources.
  • The State Government will make provision of the desired amount for the availability of residential facility in the year 2018-19 under the scheme.
  • The toilets will be constructed with the residence from Clean India-Mission / MNREGA.
  • People who are helpless, surviving through begging, primitive tribes and bonded laborers of will be benefited by this scheme.
  • In order to assess the eligibility, survey will be conducted on the basis of the rules and norms defined in the guidelines described in the guidebook of Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme rural.
