- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on 16 December 2015 successfully launched 6 satellites of Singapore into Space.
- The satellites were launched using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C29 from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikotta in Andhra Pradesh.
- The six satellites carried by PSLV-C29 together weighed about 624 kg at lift-off.
- The Singaporean satellites will be used for gathering information on disaster monitoring and urban planning.
- PSLV-C29 launched all the six payloads into an orbit of 549 km height inclined at an angle of 15 degree to the equator.
- These six satellites were launched as part of the agreement between ST Electronics (Satcom & Sensor Systems), Singapore and Antrix Corporation Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
- This was the 32nd flight for the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and its 31st consecutive success.
- This is the eleventh flight of PSLV in ‘core-alone’ configuration (without the use of solid strap-on motors).
- PSLV has successfully launched 57 satellites for customers from abroad including the six Singapore satellites launched.
- The six satellites are TeLEOS-1, Kent Ridge-1, VELOX-C1, VELOX-II, Galassia and Athenoxat-1.
- Among this TeLEOS-1 is the primary satellite weighing 400 kg.
