- On December 6, 2017; the Memorandum of Understanding for Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme was signed between the Medical and Health Department, Rajasthan and New India Insurance Company.
- The duration of this MoU is 2 years.
- The MoU was signed by Chief Health Officer State Health Assurance Agency Naveen Jain and Sanjay Agarwal (Regional Manager of New India Assurance Company).
- 311 new treatment packages have been added under this scheme.
- According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the premium of the amount of Rs. 1263 per family will be paid annually.
- At present, about 1 crore households are benefiting from Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme in the state.
- On this scheme, the state government will pay an amount of Rs. 1263 crore in the form of premium every year.
- The amount, including taxation, will be around Rs. 1500 crores.
- It is known that from December 13, 2015, the Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme is operated in the state.
- Under this scheme, facilities for angioplasty, heart bypass, heart surgery, brain surgery, applying surgery and plastic surgery are also being provided for people with severe diseases.
