- On 15th November, 2017, Medical and Health Minister Shri Kalicharan Saraf inaugurated the 34th phase of Vitamin-A by feeding Vitamin-A to the children at Anganwadi center sector 10, State Elementary School located at Malviya Nagar, Jaipur.
- This campaign will be operated from 15th November to 15th December 2017.
- Under the campaign, all children from 9 months to 5 years will get vitamin A supplements in the prescribed quantity.
- In the 34th phase, 77 lacs 94 thousand 532 children have been targeted to give vitamin A supplements.
- In the 33rd phase of this campaign in May-June this year 64 lakh 7 thousand 342 children were given Vitamin-A medicines.
- It is notable that efforts are being made to reduce the child mortality rate by running this campaign in two phases every year from last 17 years.
- According to the report released by the Health Index of Sample Registration System (SRS) -2016, two-digit improvements have been recorded in Rajasthan’s infant mortality rate and now the infant mortality rate has decreased to 41.
