- On September 6, 2017, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under Ministry of Power, Government of India has launched UJALA Scheme in the State of Melaka, Malaysia.
- UJALA stands for “Unnat Jyoti by Affordable Lighting for All”.
