- On March 21st, 2018, the notification was issued by the Ministry of Defense that the Government of India will now bear the entire expenditure on the education of martyrs’ children.
- Earlier, Government was giving educational concessions to the children of Armed Forces Officers/Personnel below Officer Ranks (PBORs)/Missing/Disabled/ Killed in Action without the cap of Rs. 10,000 per month.
- This border was named ‘Educational Facility’.
- This facility will be made available to the employees below officers / officers / officers of the Armed Forces who were killed / killed in the battles / war.
- About 3400 children will be covered under this initiative.
- This year the government will spend about 5 crore rupees on these children.
