On March 22, 2017, the third conference of ministers of the State / Union Territories Health / AYUSH of the States / Union Territories was inaugurated by the Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shri Shripad Yesso Naik in New Delhi.
This conference was organized by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
The purpose of the conference was to provide an opportunity for States / Union Territories to interact with each other for the development of the AYUSH region.
At this conference, representatives of AYUSH / Health / Ministers / Secretaries and officers of 23 States / Union Territories, Senior Officers of AYUSH Ministry and representatives from AYUSH organizations participated.
During the conference, the Minister urged all State Governments to consider amending the State Medical Practitioner Act.
As such, the AYUSH system can be used to deal with medical emergencies.
