On April 6, 2017; Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir launched the website for the second meeting of National Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR).
The second meeting of National Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction is proposed to be held during 24-25 April, 2017 in New Delhi on provisional basis.
The theme of this two-day meeting is’ Disaster Risk Reduction: ‘Making India Flexible By 2030’ for Sustainable Development.
NPDRR is a multi-stakeholder national Platform chaired by the Union Home Minister, which includes representatives of the Central Government, State Government, local self-government, parliament, disaster related experts, agencies, institutions of national importance, industry, media, and civil society organizations.
It promotes participation in decision-making in disaster management and strengthens the country’s federal policy.
It is worth mentioning that the first meeting of the NPDRR was held on May 13, 2013 in New Delhi.
