  • On April 3, 2017, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley chaired a meeting of Finance Ministers of South Asia Sub-Regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) in the Taj Palace in New Delhi.
  • In this meeting, along with India, the Finance Ministers of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka participated with officials of these countries and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
  • During the meeting, the Finance Minister launched the SASEC Vision.
  • This program will provide an opportunity for exchange of ideas and better cooperation to member countries of this sub-region.
  • In this meeting Myanmar participated as a seventh member in the SASEC program.
