• On 23 January 2016, on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose defence minister Manohar Parrikar unfurled the tallest and largest Indian national flag at Ranchi’s popular Pahari Mandir.
• Its height is 66 meters and width is 99 feet.
• In Ranchi, the tricolor is hoisted on the pole of 293 feet.
• The project took more than 120 workers and 40 days to put up the flag post, costing an estimated Rs 1.25 crore, of which Rs 44 lakh was spent on the flag alone.
• In this way Ranchi broke the record of Faridabad where in 2015 national flag of 64 feet high and 96 feet wide was hoisted on the pole of 250 feet.
