- On 7 February 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated Paradip Refinery to the nation.
- This refinery has been established by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) at Paradip in Odisha.
- Spread over 3,344 acres the Paradip refinery is the largest in the public sector, and is IOCL’s 11th refinery and 23rd refinery for India giving it a total capacity of 15 million metric tons per annum.
- Paradip refinery is a matter of pride for the country in the sense that it’s INDMAX unit is manufactured by indigenous technology.
- PM also described Paradip refinery as Odisha’s ‘Vikas Deep’.
