- On January 9th, 2018 in the meeting of UP Cabinet it was decided to set up a new sugar mill and co-generation plant on undisputed land of the closed Pipraich sugar mill in Gorakhpur district and in the closed Munderwa sugar mill in Basti district.
- On the undisputed land of these two sugar mills, the new sugar mills of 5000 T.C.D and its corresponding co-generation plant will be established.
- The expenditure on the establishment of the above two projects will be borne by the State Government in the form of 100% loan.
- After the permission of the State Cabinet, it will operate in one year after establishing a sugar mill and co-generation plant at both places.
