- Election Commission of India (ECI) has organized “Matdaata Mahotsav” from 14th to 17th of January, 2016 at Central park, Connaught Place, New Delhi
- The event was inaugurated by Chief Election Commissioner of India Dr. Nasim Zaidi on 14th January, 2016.
- The event had focused at involving voters and citizens from all walks of life specifically women, youth, defence personnel, non-resident Indians, persons with disabilities, and those from marginalised sections for enhanced sense of inclusion.
- It also aimed at increasing awareness about the electoral process and strengthening SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation) programme.
- This festival was organized with the support from partner CSOs, NGOs, Ministries and Departments, Radio, TV and Print Media partners for greater outreach to the people.
