  • On 19 December 2016 Indian batsman Karun Nair scored an unbeaten 303 on the fourth day of the fifth and final Test match against England in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
  • Nair achieved this feat in the third Test match of his career.
  • Karun Nair registered his first triple hundred in only his third innings in Tests – the least innings taken by any batsman.
  • The previous best was six Tests and nine innings taken by Len Hutton of England.
