- On 26th March, 2018, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu K Palaniswamy inaugurated the newly built insect museum at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
- The construction cost of this museum is Rs. 5 crores.
- This museum has been built in 6,691 sq ft area, which is dedicated to insects.
- This is probably the first museum of its kind in the country.
