  • On September 15th, 2017, Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi inaugurated the Center for Animal Law in the campus of the NALSAR University of Law in Telangana, Hyderabad.
  • This is India’s first centre for animal law.
  • This Center will prepare curriculum on animal welfare laws, including developing topics for research.
  • Apart from this, this center will also organize workshops on issues of animal law and animal welfare.
