  • On 19 January 2016 the 3rd edition of Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI) 2015-16 was released during annual summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
  • This GTCI list was compiled by INSEAD business school in partnership with Adecco and Human Capital Leadership Institute of Singapore (HCLI) on the first day of annual summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
  • The theme for this year is “Talent Attraction and International Mobility”.
  • Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI), 2015-16 includes 109 countries.
  • The top three countries ranked on talent competitiveness are Switzerland at number one, followed by Singapore and Luxembourg in second and third places, respectively, remaining the same as in 2014.
  • Thereafter United States (4th), Denmark (5th), Sweden (6th), United Kingdom (7th), Norway (8th), Canada (9th) and Finland (10th).
  • Compared to its 78th rank in the 2014-15 report, India slipped 11 places to rank 89th in the GTCI 2015-16.
  • Among BRICS countries China ranked 48th Russia 53rd, South Africa and Brazil are ranked 57th and 67th.
  • Among the neighboring countries of India, Sri Lanka ranked 83rd, Bangladesh and Pakistan are ranked 100th and 103rd.
  • The countries that were at the bottom of the index are– Mali (105), Tanzania (106), Ethiopia (107), Burkina Faso (108) and Madagascar (109).
