  • On December 26th, 2017, the Central Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Ministry initiated the initiative to make the Ganges River pure and uninterrupted, for the first time, its four tributaries; Hinden, Kali, Ramganga and Gomti were included in the ‘Ganga Sanitation Campaign’.
  • It is notable that in the first phase, these four tributaries of Ganga were included.
  • In the next phase some other tributaries will be included.
