- On August 29th, 2017, the Uttar Pradesh Government in its recent cabinet meeting has decided to fix Rs. 1550 per quintal as Minimum Support Price for Common Paddy and Rs. 1590 per quintal for Grade A Paddy.
- The state government has set a target of procuring 50 lakh metric tonne of paddy from farmers.
- For the first time farmer’s registration is made compulsory before the sale of Paddy in Kharif marketing year 2017-18.
- Apart from this, the process of online procurement of Paddy is essentially started on all the purchasing agencies.
- Farmers will be paid at the rate of Rs.15 per quintal at the expenditure of the paddy unloading, filtration, cleaning etc.
- All purchase agencies pay the price of paddy online through R.T.G.S.
- In case of non-availability of R.T.G.S. payment will be done through account payee check.
