  • On November 23rd, 2017, Bangladesh and Myanmar signed ‘Arrangement’ on Return of displaced Myanmar persons sheltered in Bangladesh in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
  • The ‘Arrangement’ stipulates that the return shall commence within two months.
  • Foreign Minister A H Mahmood Ali MP signed the bilateral instrument and U Kyaw Tint Swe, Union Minister signed the instrument on behalf of the respective governments.
  • After the violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine Province, about 600,000 Rohingyas have fled to Myanmar since August 2017 and have gone to Bangladesh.
  • It is note worthy that in August, 2017; the army started a campaign against Rohingyas Muslims.
