  • On April 24th, 2018, A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Indian Culinary Institute (ICI) an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, and Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU), Amarkantak in New Delhi.
  • The MOU was signed for imparting collaborative degree programmes including research in the field of culinary arts.
  • ICI has its campuses at Tirupati and Noida.
  • ICI offers various courses ranging from Diploma, Under Graduate, and Post Graduate to research in Culinary Arts.
  • The academic courses from Noida campus would commence from 2018-19 batchand further batches at Tirupati campus from 2018-19 academic session.
  • The graduate and post graduate courses will start from July this academic year.
  • The purpose of the establishment of Indian Culinary Institute was to create a mechanism to fulfill the efforts of preserving and disseminating Indian cuisines, which will meet the needs of experts in Indian cuisine, thereby encouraging the recipes as tourism production.
  • This Institute will serve as a Center of Excellence, which will provide structured regular programs of special study for cooking (art of cooking) and culinary management.
