- On 9th April 2019; Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 54th Valour Day (Shaurya Diwas).
- President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to the martyrs at National Police Memorial in New Delhi on this occasion.
- He also presented gallantry medals to six Jawans posthumously.
- It should be known that on 9th April, 1965, a small contingent of 2nd Battalion of CRPF successfully fought and repulsed an attack by a Pakistani Brigade at Sardar Post in the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
