  • The first, second, third and fourth versions of this important annual report issued by the United Nations were released in the year 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 respectively.\
  • 155 countries are included in this World Happiness Report-2017.
  • The World Happiness Report is based on six key variables, each of which digs into a different aspect of life.

  • According to this report, Norway is the world’s happiest country .
  • The report includes Norway followed by Denmark , Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden in the top ten countries of the world.
  • Amongst the developed countries of the world United States is at 14th position, United Kingdom is at 19th , Singapore is at 26th, Germany is at 16th and Japan is at 51th position .
  • According to the report, India is ranked 122nd in this list, while last year India was at 118th place.
  • In neighboring countries of India, China is ranked 79th, Pakistan is 80th, Bhutan Bangladesh is 110th.
  • In this way India is far behind from its neighbors in this list.
  • It is important to note that no Asian country is included in the list for the top 10 countries.
  • Israel is ranked 11th, and United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates) is 21st among the most happiest Asian countries.
  • According to this report, the Central African Republic is at the bottom of the list.. It is at 155th position.
  • It is worth noting that the main objective of this report, issued by the United Nations from the year 2012, is to motivate the member countries to create public policies keeping in mind the level of satisfaction and happiness of their citizens.
