- On 7th June, 2017, Secretary of Health and Family Affairs, C.K Mishra inaugurated ‘Vatsalya Maatri Amrit Kosh’ at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi.
- It is the largest Human (Maatri) Milk bank and Lactation Counseling center of public sector in the entire north India.
- This fund was established in collaboration with the Norwegian Government, Oslo University and the NIPI-Norwegian India Partner Initiative.
- It is notable that the government has recently started the program of MAA (Mother Absolute Affection) to bring awareness about the subject of mother’s milk feeding.
