- On October 14, 2015 the Union Cabinet approved the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Government of India and Mozambique in the area of New and Renewable Energy to promote bilateral cooperation, investments, promotion and partnership on new and renewable energy issues on the basis of mutual benefit, equality and reciprocity.
- It is to be noted that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Government of India and the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, Government of Mozambique in New Delhi on 5th August, 2015, during the visit of Mr. Filipe Nyusi, President of Mozambique to India.
- The areas of cooperation will focus on development of new and renewable energy technologies in the field of conducting on-the-job and specialized training courses on renewable energy field, Research & development and of technology transfer in renewable energy, including Labs; Exchange of experience on different kinds of renewable energies, focusing on solar, wind, biomass, biofuels and geothermal.
