  • From October 15 to November 15, 2016; the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a challenge drive to enroll the leftover population for Aadhaar in 22 states/Union Territories.
  • It is aimed at targeting the floating population and leftover residents.
  • As part of the drive, the residents of these states/UTs, who have not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, are being asked to register themselves at https://www.wenrol.uidai.gov.in. .
  • The challenge drive enrolment scheme will be only for the adult population.
  • The 22 States/UTs are Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh.
