  • On January 12, 2016 the United Nations, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division released a report titled with “TRENDS IN INTERNATIONAL MIGRANT STOCK: THE 2015 REVISION”.
  • As per the report the number     of     international     migrants worldwide has reached to 244 million in 2015.
  • The number of migrants has been increased by 71 million (41%) between 2000 and 2015.
  • Two third of all international migrants have resident in Europe (76 million) and Asia (75 million).
  • The female share in the global international migrant stock fell slightly from 49.1 per cent to 48.2 per cent between 2000 and 2015.

  • The population of international migrants (according to country), USA-47 million, Germany-12 million, Russia-12 million, Saudi Arabia-10 million, UK-9 million and 8 million have resident in UAE.
  • The population of other international migrants (according to country), India-16 million, China-10 million, Bangladesh-7 million, Pakistan-6 million and 6 million from Ukraine have migrated.
  • Accordingly to report most immigrants have come from India in the world.
  • In international migrants 48 per cent are women.
  • In international migrants the 43% have taken birth in Asia and 25% in Europe.
  • The median age of these international migrants is mentioned 39 years in the report.
  • According to the report the global share of migrants in the population have reached to 3.3% in 2015 compare to 2.8% in 2000.
