- On January 12, 2016 the United Nations, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division released a report titled with “TRENDS IN INTERNATIONAL MIGRANT STOCK: THE 2015 REVISION”.
- As per the report the number of international migrants worldwide has reached to 244 million in 2015.
- The number of migrants has been increased by 71 million (41%) between 2000 and 2015.

- Accordingly to report most immigrants have come from India in the world.
- In international migrants 48 per cent are women.
- In international migrants the 43% have taken birth in Asia and 25% in Europe.
- The median age of these international migrants is mentioned 39 years in the report.
- According to the report the global share of migrants in the population have reached to 3.3% in 2015 compare to 2.8% in 2000.
