  • The Minister of Textiles has informed Rajya Sabha about the implementation of Silk Samagra Scheme for Development of Sericulture.
  • It is a Central Sector Scheme launched for a period of three years i.e. 2017-2020.
  • Objective: To scale up production of Silk by improving the quality and productivity and to empower downtrodden, poor & backward families through various activities of sericulture in the country.
  • It is being implemented by the Central Silk Board (CSB).
