- On 29-30 March 2017; at the level of Commerce Secretary, the second meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade, Commerce and Investment between India and Afghanistan was held in New Delhi.
- In this meeting, the Indian delegation was led by Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia.
- The Afghan delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Qurban Haqjo.
- During the meeting, the two sides discussed the various issues related to bilateral trade and economic relations such as transit of commodities, business visa, business of pharmaceutical products, custom related cooperation etc.
- Apart from this, in this meeting, it was agreed to further enhance mutual cooperation in many areas such as renewable energy, electricity, agriculture, transport and public health sector.
- The next meeting of this Joint Working Group will be held in Kabul.
