- On September 5, 2018, the Union Cabinet approved the establishment and operation of seven new IIM permanent campuses.
- These will be established in Amritsar (Punjab), Bodhgaya (Bihar), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Sambalpur (Odisha), Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir).
- These IIMs were established in the year 2015-16 / 2016-17. Presently these institutions are working in temporary campuses.
- A total of 3775.42 crores of rupees have been estimated in the construction of these projects.
- Out of which 09 crores will be spent on the construction of permanent premises of these institutions.
- The construction of permanent premises of these institutions will be completed by June, 2021.
