- On 28th February, 2017, Senior Indian Police Service officer Ms D.R. Doley Barman was appointed as Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy Hyderabad.
- She is a 1986 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IPS officer and will replace Ms Aruna M Bahuguna.
- However, Ms Barman’s appointment has been done by temporarily downgrading the post to ADG level for a period of two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- Ms Barman, would also hold additional charge of the post of Director, North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA), Meghalaya, where she is currently working, till the appointment and joining of regular Director.
