- On August 9th, 2017, The Uttar Pradesh Government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a new awareness drive called ‘Namami Gange Jagriti Yatra’.
- The drive has been organised by Uttar Pradesh Homeguard Organisation.
- Drive will pass through 108 blocks of 25 districts of UP from Bijnore to Ballia alonside the Ganga river covering a total of 1025 Kilometer.
- During this drive, efforts will be made to awaken the public awareness by organizing meetings through more than one lakh Homeguards volunteers in 25 districts of Ganga flow area in the state.
- The journey will conclude on September 6th, 2017.
