  • According to the PIB Press Release posted on 19 June 2018, Shri Raghvendra Singh , Secretary ,Ministry of Culture, proclaimed that 3 MoUs were signed under “Adopt a Heritage” scheme , 6 are at headway and 31 more Adarsh Monuments are enlisted for being included in the scheme.
  • The scheme is administered by Ministry of Culture , Ministry of Tourism and Archaeological Survey of India.
  • Project aims to induce Public Sector Companies ,Private Sector Companies and Corporate Citizens/individuals for taking the responsibility of multidimensional development under the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities through operation and maintenance of world- class tourist infrastructure and amenities.
  • The programme primarily focuses on providing basic amenities like cleanliness, public conveniences, drinking water, ease of access for differently abled and senior citizens, standardized signage, illumination and advanced amenities such as surveillance system, night viewing facilities, tourism facilitation center and an enhanced tourism experience for increment of tourism on mass level.
  • Regarding “Adopt a Heritage scheme” pertaining to Red Fort being put on hold Ministry of Culture has clarified that project is making good progress.
