  • The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has created an Integrated Geospatial Platform on April 15, 2020 with the available geospatial datasets, standards-based services, and analytic tools to help decision making during the current COVID-19 outbreak and aid devising area-specific strategies .
  • The platform will strengthen the public health delivery system of the State and Central Governments providing the geospatial information support to citizens and agencies dealing with issues of health, socio-economic distress, and livelihood challenges.
  • It will complement the “AAROGYA-SETU” mobile application launched by the Government of India for Contact tracing, Public awareness.
  • This integrated geospatial platform will strengthen the Nation’s health emergency management due to the COVID-19 outbreak and support the socio-economic recovery process providing spatial data, information, and linkage between human, medical, technological, infrastructural and natural resources.
