- On 22 October 2020, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane commissioned INS Kavaratti at a ceremony held at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
- It is last of the four Anti-Submarine Warfare stealth corvette built under Project 28 (Kamorta Class).
- Kavaratti is indigenously designed by the Indian Navy’s in-house organization, Directorate of Naval Design (DND) and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.
- The ship is the reincarnation of the erstwhile Arnala Class missile corvette of the same name (INS Kavaratti – P 80).
