India and Russia Agreement

Question: recently, India and Russia agreed on a programme during the Rajnath Singh’s three-day visit to Russia. The agreed programme is concerned-
(a) for mutual assistance in the field of health
(b) for the exchange of defense technology
(c) to deal with disaster and other emergencies
(d) for direct and foreign investment

Related Fact:

  • On November 27th, 2017 India and Russia agreed on a programme of training of specialists and sharing of each other’s experiences as well as best practices in the field of Disaster Management.
  • The two leaders later signed a Joint Implementation Plan for the years 2018-19 for cooperation in Disaster Management.
  • This agreement made during the Rajnath Singh’s three-day visit to Russia.
  • Both the sides agreed that EMERCOM of Russia would cooperate with India in the establishment of the National Crisis Management Centre (NCMC) in India.
