- In order of promoting and glorifying the prosperity of Hindi language Hindi Diwas is celebrated on 14 September every year since 1953.

Celebrations:
- Hindi Diwas marks organization of essays, debate competitions, poetry, plays and exhibitions in schools, colleges and educational institutions.

- Fiji has also adopted Hindi under the status of official language. It is also called Fijian Hindi or Fijian Hindustani. This is a composite form of Awadhi, Bhojpuri and other dialects.
World Hindi Day:
- The World Hindi Day is observed annually on 10 January since its inception in 2006 for the promotion of the language at the global stage.
