- On 18th January, 2019; Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 9th edition of Global Trade Show at the Mahatma Mandir Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. On the same day and venue PM also inaugurated of the 9th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
- The trade show will continue till January 22 and opened for general public on the last two days (January 21 and 22).
- The stalls brought to the fore the Prime Minister’s vision of Make in India with an apt tagline – From Charkha to Chandrayaan.
- The Global Trade Show is spread over an area of 200,000 sq. mts, with more than 25 industrial and business sectors showcasing their ideas, products and designs under one roof.
- Over 30,000 delegates from India and abroad took part in the event including 5 Heads of States from Uzbekistan, Rwanda, Denmark, Czech Republic and Malta along with the captains of industry from various sectors.
- The Prime Minister invited global business leaders and companies to come and invest in India where the business climate is more investor friendly now with the required infrastructure and facilities in place.
- Prime Minister notified that now in India Doing Business has became cheaper with the implementation of GST and other measures of simplification of taxes have reduced transaction costs and made processes efficient.
