  • On 7th November 2020, ISRO successfully launched Earth Observation Satellite EOS-01 and nine other customer satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota.
  • The launch was carried out by India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C49). It was PSLV’s 51st Mission.
  • Also, it was 2nd flight of PSLV in ‘DL’ configuration (with 2 solid strap-on motors).
  • EOS-01 is an earth observation satellite, intended for applications in agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.
  • The satellite will work in coordination with Radar Imaging Satellites, RISAT-2B and RISAT-2BR1 launched in 2019.
  • The nine customer satellites comprise of Lithuania (1), Luxembourg (4) and USA (4). These were launched under a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
