- On 27 April 2021,DRDO conducted the maiden trail of 5th generation Python-5 Air-to-Air Missile (AAM).
- The missile was launched from Tejas, India’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft.
- Trials were also aimed to validate enhanced capability of already integrated Derby Beyond Visual Range (BVR) AAM on Tejas. The trials met all their planned objectives.
- Python-5 air-to-air missile (AAM) is manufactured by Israeli Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
- The missile is the most accurate and reliable AAM of the Israeli Air Force and one of the most sophisticated guided missiles in the world.
