  • On 5th September, 2017, in cabinet meeting state government decided to ban plastic in Jharkhand and to declare the state as a fully plastic free zone.

  • This decision is taken on the proposal of Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department.
  • Also, food containers used for packaging of milk and milk products and advanced nursery plants will not be considered as plastic carry bags.
