- The country’s first medical education student insurance scheme will be launched in Madhya Pradesh.
- This announcement is made in February 2021.
- Under this scheme, medical students studying in government / autonomous medical ‚dentistry‚ nursing colleges and government paramedicals will be provided health insurance and personal accident insurance cover during their studies.
- Medical students of the age group of 18 to 35 years will be provided the benefit of health insurance and personal accident insurance during their studies.
- Under the scheme, students will receive a mediclaim of Rs 2 lakh.
- In case of permanent disability and death, a mediclaim (cashless card) of Rs 10 lakh will be provided under personal accident insurance.
