- On 22nd January, 2017 China notified to reinforce censorship on unauthorized internet connection including virtual private network (VPN) services that allow users to bypass restrictions known as the Great Firewall.
- The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology informed that it is launching a nationwide clean-up campaign aimed at internet service provider, internet data center and content delivery network companies.
