  • On 7th April 2021 Union Minister Harsh Vardhan launched tribal health collaborative ‘Anamaya’ through video conferencing.

Facts

  • It is multi-stakeholder initiative of government that will converge schemes of various government agencies and organization.
  • In this multi-stakeholders programme ministry of tribal affairs is supported by Piramal foundation along with Bill and Melinda gates foundation.
  • It is a initiative to enhance health and nutrition status of tribal communities in India.
  • It aims to build a sustainable and high-performing health ecosystem for tribals of India.
  • It will begin its operations with 50 tribal, Aspirational Districts (with more than 20% Sheduled Tribe population) across 6 high tribal population states.
  • Over a 10-year period, the work of the THC will be extended to 177 tribal Districts as recognised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
