- The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games,held from 1-10 December 2019 in Nepal. It was held in three cities namely, Pokhara, Kathmandu, and Janakpur.
- President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari declared opening of games in a glittering ceremony at Dasaratha Rangshala Stadium in Kathmandu.
- The 10 Days long Games witnessed the participation of seven South Asian Countries India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Bhutan.

South Asian Games:
- The South Asian Games (SAF Games, SAG, or SA games, and formerly known as South Asian Federation Games) is a biennial multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia.
- The 8 members of SAG are India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
- South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC), formed in 1983 is the governing body of these games.
- The first South Asian Games were hosted by Kathmandu, Nepal in 1984.
- From 1984 to 1987 they were held every year except 1986, as it was a year of Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
