- On 25 February 2016 the well-known Hindi scholar and writer Sunita Jain’s poetry collection “Kshama” has been selected for the prestigious Vyas Samman 2015.
- According to the release made by foundation the selection of “Kshama” a poetry collection published in 2008 made by the Chayan Samiti presided over by eminent litterateur Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari.
- Sunita Jain has the rare distinction of having made her mark in two literary universes, writing in both English and Hindi.
- Some of the important books written by him include- Safar Ke Saathi, Rang Rati, A Girl of Her Age and A Woman is Dead.
- The “Padma Shri” was conferred on her by the President of India in 2004.
- It may be recalled that eminent Hindi writer Dr Kamal Kishore Goenka has been conferred with prestigious 24th Vyaas Samman for year 2014 in recognition of his work ‘Premchand ki Kahaniyon ka Kaal Kramanusaar Adhyayan’.
- The award was instituted by the K.K. Birla Foundation in 1991.
- It is awarded annually for an exceptional contribution made by Hindi writers towards the language and his work published in past 10 years.
- The award carries monetary award of 2.5 lakh rupees, a citation and a plaque.
