  • Department of Fisheries organized a function to celebrate the World Fisheries Day in New Delhi. Union Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Giriraj Singh mentioned that there is a tremendous amount of opportunities in the fisheries sector.
  • The annual production of fisheries has reached up to 13 million metric tonnes and the Ministry is working on achieving target of 20 million metric tonne in the next five years.
